We closed up camp and went out to breakfast this morning to
Ft. Nelson’s Hotel Café.
This was recommended to us from a local that we meet a few days ago at the Liard Hot Springs.
It was pretty good, they had an all you can eat Breakfast Buffet for $9 and to our surprise they had a fruit bowl of delicious melons (not bad)!
Back on the road and stopped for a break at 11:30 to see the Sasquatch at Sasquatch Crossing (Mile 147). We were in Dawson Creek at 2:45 and spent about an hour and a half for a few groceries, Internet at McD’s and gas. We made it to Hythe, Alberta, CAN. At 5:30 and set up camp at a very nice Municipal Campground that had electric, flush toilets, showers and internet (that didn’t work) for $20. Pretty good deal. Our wildlife day was uneventful, except for two road kills of Moose that we saw this afternoon. Our drive from Ft. Nelson to Hythe had extremely different geography and landscape. This area is a lot more rolling, green hills and ranch lands with huge white puffy clouds. This kind of driving puts me in a hypnotic state with so much beauty to see, and then I get a reality check when the steep, curvy suicide road signs appear in front of me. We drove about 330 miles today and hope to make it just outside of Calvary, CAN tomorrow.
