Alaska Road Trip Tues July 12

Today we left Marsh Lake Government Campground, YK about 8:00 am and drove up to White Horse City for some supplies.  Spent about 2 hours shopping, finding a post office and Liquor Store (they don’t sell Liquor in Grocery Markets here).  A six pack of local beer was $16. Ouch!   When we pulled into the Visitor’s Center in town, guess who was is the parking lot….yes, that guy (Adam) who has been behind us off and on the whole trip. The roads weren’t any better today, slow, bumpy and a lot of gravel.  It took us about 91/2 hours to go 304 miles to Snag Junction Government Campground, YK.  We got there around 5:45 and got our tent site all set up, dinner on the stove (Hamburger Helper, Yum!) and it started to rain again. No problem….we still on one bottle of wine to finish off.   Total miles driven to date: 3,019   We’ll be in ALASKA tomorrow morning!
